Street art, shrunk down and framed.
Sont makes small street-art scenes in deep black frames. Each one starts with a hand-lettered line in dripping paint marker, and ends with a tiny crew of painters who are, somehow, still at work on it.
The pieces play with the gap between a big statement and the small, clumsy people making it happen. A motivational quote gets its last word on a wobbly ladder. "Live Laugh Love" loses its final letter to a spilled bucket. A brain gets an out-of-order sign. A bright future is rolled over in white, one stroke at a time.
The words are finished. The crew never is.
Every frame is signed on the bottom rail and made as a one-off. Commissions are welcome: bring a phrase, a name, an inside joke or a company motto, and choose the paint colour and frame.
